Tuition Waivers

Early Development Network (EDN) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professional Upgrade Partnership (EDN-NUPUP)

A one-time funding from the U.S. Department of Education, IDEA, Part C American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009; Grant #H393A090033

Currently employed Nebraska Services Coordinators, supervisors and service providers of Part C special educaation services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities (who have an active Individualized Family Service Plan-ISFP) applied and received tuition waivers for one or two graduate courses in Special Education. A total of 25 EDN employees will complete coursework at UNL in 2011 via distance education.

To-date:

Spring 2011: Seven practitioners have received tuition waivers for enrollment in:

SPED 861 Infants with Disabilities and Home Visiting.

Summer 2011: Sixteen practitioners received tuition waivers for enrollment in:

SPED 890A: Language Developent for Teachers (3)

SPED863 Medically Fragile Infants (14)

Fall 2011: Fourteen practitioners received tuition waivers for enrollment in:

SPED 809 Autism Spectrum Disorders-I (3)

SPED 960 Family-School Collaborataion (11)

SPED 872 Psychology and Sociology of Deafness (2)

SPED 846 Introducation to Vision Impairments (1)

These practitioners include early childhood special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing, school psychologists and service coordinators. They represent fourteen different early childhood planning regions in Nebraska.

 

No new applications are being accepted, as all available funds have been expended.
