Assistant Technical Designer of Production, Alice + Olivia

After graduating in 2014 with a Master of Arts in Fashion Design, an internship at Alice + Olivia led me to focus on the area of Technical Design for my career path. The internship gave me valuable industry experience and a strong understanding of the entire garment process, from the initial concept to the finished product in stores. Following my internship with Alice + Olivia, I worked as an Assistant Technical Designer of Development at Maggy London. While at Maggy, I acted as the liaison between the designer and factory, interpreting key garment details and translating these ideas to create an initial prototype. I currently work at Alice + Olivia as an Assistant Technical Designer, focusing on production. Throughout the production stage, I use my knowledge of pattern making and construction standards to solve fit issues that arise on a garment. Alice + Olivia's excellence in fit and construction, as well as their unique vision and identity, are all key components to the company's success. It is my job to ensure all these components are translated to the garment when it reaches stores.
