Dr. Stacie Ray grew up in a small town in central Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 1991, a Master of Science degree in Audiology from the University of Nebraska in 2001, and a Doctor of Audiology degree from Salus University in Pennsylvania in 2008. Dr. Ray has worked in the healthcare field for 20 years. She joined the faculty at UNL in 2004 after working 3 years at an ENT clinic. She has a clear passion for the field of audiology, largely due to her personal experience of raising a hearing impaired child. She uses this passion to help teach the future Doctors of Audiology at UNL. Dr. Ray is a licensed audiologist in the state of Nebraska and and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency through the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She manages the Hearing Aid Clinic at the Barkley Memorial Center as well as the Sertoma Hearing Aid Bank. She established the Nebraska Children's Hearing Aid Bank in 2007 to help ensure that children identified with a hearing loss have the opportunity to hear. She is a committee member of the Nebraska Early Hearing Detection and Intervention program, a member of the Nebraska Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She serves as a preceptor in the audiology clinic, teaches Introduction to Audiology, guest lectures at the undergraduate and graduate level, and collaborates with numerous organizations to ensure individuals with hearing loss have accessibility to services. |
