Frequently
Asked Testing Center Questions Do I need to take the PPST? Yes, if you are working on an INITIAL teaching
certification you must take the PPST. If you already have a
teaching certificate from another state and want to obtain certification
in Nebraska or add-on another endorsement, specific rules apply and
you should contact the College certification office in 104 Henzlik
Hall or call 472-8623 for more information. I've heard that I can take the PPST at Sylvan Learning Center or during scheduled exam times on campus. How do I get signed up? The Sylvan Learning Center
test is on computer only and is offered Monday through Saturday. You
call 423-8833 to register and must pay for the exam by credit card
when you register. How can I prepare to take the PPST? If you are looking to brush up on some of your skills before taking the PPST, you can use the PLATO Web Learning Network. (Download a PDF with instructions) This system is free to students in CEHS. You can pick up instructions and password information from the Student Services Center in 105 Henzlik Hall. A computer based practice exam is available as well as 'Tests at a Glance' which can be downloaded from the Praxis web site at www.ets.org/praxis. Instructions of how to access the computer based practice exam are located on the wall, in Henzlik hallway, just outside the door to room 105. If you do not have a personal computer or need assistance in accessing the computer practice exam, the ALTC computer lab in 120 Mabel Lee Hall and their staff can assist you with it. The Student Services Advising Center in 105 Henzlik also have some practice manuals which you may check out with a $35.00 deposit. (We prefer a check for the deposit and will hold it until you return the manuals.)
