Degree pursuing: Doctoral degree, Family Science with a specialization in Child, Youth, and Family Studies
Project: I have coded data and also translated research to practice by developing resources for childcare providers on topics like role modeling, engaging children’s senses with food, and positive feeding practices.
Skills Acquired: Translating research to practice through working with Extension specialists and educators, poster presentations at national conferences and manuscript development.
Future Goals: Through Cooperative Extension, I want to work with youth and families in helping them meet their needs and goals for healthy eating and living.
How will the project experience help you achieve your future career goals? This will help me develop evidence-based programs and implement them in the community. I will also be able to use the experiences to evaluate programs and use the results to further inform research.
Top 3 strengths that contribute to the project: Responsible, Hardworking, Leadership
Fun Fact: I climbed one of the tallest mountains in Southeast Asia in January 2014. It was a great and exhilarating experience I will never forget.
