In accordance with the U.S. Department of Education's new regulation (34 C.F.R.§ 600.9) regarding legal authorization to provide postsecondary education through distance or correspondence education in a state in which it is not physically located or in which it is otherwise subject to State jurisdiction as determined by the state, the University of Nebraska monitors developments in state laws in every state. Step I: Application to the Office of Graduate Studies

***Graduate Studies requires online submission of the application. Printed forms are not accepted***

Needed for completion of the Graduate Studies application:

  1. Application fee ($50)
  2. One unofficial copy of college/university transcripts uploaded to MyRed (after students are admitted an official copy of their transcripts are required)
  3. Demonstrate English proficiency (if your native language is not English) by providing at least one of the following:
         •   paper-based TOEFL(PBT) score of at least 550
         •   internet-based TOEFL(IBT) score of at least 79
         •   International English Language Testing System(IELTS) score of at least 6.5

*Please allow 7-10 days for your Graduate Studies online application to reach the department.


Step II: Application to the Department of Educational Administration

Once your application is complete with the Office of Graduate Studies, you will receive an email to apply to the department through GAMES

Checklist of departmental items submitted to the GAMES application system:

__ Application Requirements for P-12 Administrative Endorsement

__ Copy of official Teaching Certificate (For P-12 Administrative Endorsement)

__ Letter of Application (The letter should include professional goals, area of academic interest and why you chose to apply to UNL.)

__ Resume (Please take this opportunity to highlight specific accomplishments and experiences.)

__ Three letters of recommendation (For P-12 Administrative Endorsement, at least one letter must address successful teaching experience of two or more years at the certified grade level.)

Only completed applications will be considered by the Admissions Committee. Department applications must be completed within one year of initiation. All incomplete files will be destroyed after one year.
