Masters Comprehensive Examination Policy

All Higher Education Masters Students

(including Athletic Administration, HRD, and Student Affairs)

Statement:

Students seeking a Masters Degree from the Educational Administration Department will be required to write a capstone paper as their comprehensive examination at the end of their program of studies.  Since this is both an evaluative and learning process, the students are expected to integrate and synthesize what was learned during their course of study and how they could apply research, theory, and course content to practice.  The essay should include references to course content and experiences, such as, projects, practica, and internships.  Sources should be cited, using current APA guidelines, and the learning outcomes should also show application to the students’ future career goals.

(Essays should not exceed 15 pages double-spaced (including references), excluding a title page, with one inch margins and a twelve point font.  Students should put their name only on the title page.)

(Faculty only will provide the departmental directions to students on how to complete this project.)
