Introduction

The past several years have seen a continual emphasis within the K-12 schools and school districts in developing and implementing school improvement plans that meet the high standards of accreditation. Such plans emphasize data analysis, goal setting, implementing change, documentation of progress, and assessment - creating a course of action in which student progress is continually highlighted.

The Department of Educational Administration has consistently worked with the K-12 classroom teachers and school districts in providing programs that prepare pre-service principals and superintendents in leading their schools through the school improvement process. These programs have emphasized developing skills and gaining the knowledge necessary to meet the demands of accrediting bodies such as the State Department of Education and the North Central Association on Accreditation and School Improvement.

The website has been developed as a part of the Nebraska Catalyst Grant to provide teachers and administrators a central location to present their school's profile.

Opportunity for feedback

A key ingredient towards growth for school improvement is the opportunity to have a dialogue with other school administrators and teachers who are trying to create a school improvement plan.
