The application process is a two-part procedure. Students must apply to the Graduate College and to the Educational Psychology department.

__ GRE scores/International students only official TOEFL score (minimum score of 550 on the paper version or 213 on the computerized version or 80 on th iBT) not more than two years old.
You may complete an online application or request that a paper copy of the application form be sent. The online application consists of multiple parts. Part III "Admission Objective" is where you identify your desired degree and program of interest. Depending on your degree objective you need to do one of the following:
To obtain a Masters in Cognition, Learning & Developement; Counseling Psychology; or Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Methods then:
1. under "Degree/Major" select "Educational Psychology (MA)"
2. type in the program name in "Area of Specialization"
To obtain an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology then:
1. under "Degree/Major" select "Educational Psychology (EdS)"
2. type in "School Psychology" in the "Area of Specialization"
To obtain a Doctorate in any of the programs then:
1. under "Degree/Major" select "Psychological Studies in Education (PhD)"
2. select the appropriate program in the "Area of Specialization"
If you complete the paper application, please place the application and all supporting materials in the same envelope, if possible. When documents are received together, applications can be processed more quickly.
It is desirable that applicants for degree programs satisfy all admission requirements one month before the department deadline in order to ensure timely arrival of the corresponding documentation. The department cannot consider your file until these items have been received.

The Department of Educational Psychology uses a web-based system for departmental reviews of graduate applications. It is called the Graduate Admissions Management and Evaluation System, or simply GAMES. A password enabling access to this system is e-mailed after the completion of Part One (Application to the Graduate College).
GAMES allows you to fulfill departmental application requirements online by entering information and uploading files electronically. It is not necessary to also submit paper copies of the application requirements.

It is to your advantage to check with Allison Jones, 114 Teachers College Hall (402-472-1050) prior to the deadline to make sure all the admission data are on file.
Department applications must be completed within one year of initiation; all incomplete files will be destroyed.
Other Information
Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The general test is required. The department will accept an unofficial copy of your scores on a temporary basis, but an official copy is required before a final decision on admission can be made. GRE scores should not be more than five years old.
International Applicants: A TOEFL score of 550 or more on the paper version or 213 on the computerized version or 80 on the iBT is required. For additional requirements for international students, refer to the application instructions for Graduate Studies, University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Supplementary Information: Applicants are encouraged to include supplementary information with their departmental applications, including papers, publications, etc., to assist the Admissions Selection Committee in their judgment about scholarly potential. After the deadline date, the completed application files are reviewed by the faculty in the program to which the student applies and then by the department Graduate Committee. If a student is recommended for admission, notification is sent to the student and the recommendation forwarded to the Graduate College; if the Graduate College concurs with the department recommendation, a Certificate of Admission is issued.
