Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Methods

How do you measure what someone knows? Students in QQPM work with methods and instruments that help answer these questions. Formed in 1987, the QQPM program offers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees with specialties in educational measurement, applied statistics, and research methods. The QQPM program has a commitment to recruiting and retaining a diverse student body, and an excellent record of mentoring students through their programs with opportunities to work intensely with program faculty, to benefit from research and applied consultative experiences, and to participate in rich practicum experiences. QQPM is a multidisciplinary masters and doctoral program that provides students with a wide range of skills related to research methodology, educational and psychological measurement, and applied statistics. The Faculty specialize in applied psychometrics, latent variable analysis, and mixed methodology. The program is unique in its emphasis on qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research approaches, and in the integration of cognitive and developmental principles of educational psychology. The curriculum in the program is flexible enough to allow students to specialize their expertise while receiving a well balanced education.

Careers in QQPM-
Graduates of the QQPM program work in a variety of professional settings, including school districts, private assessment and consulting firms such as Educational Testing Service and the Gallup Organization, and universities throughout the United States. QQPM graduates are aggressively recruited and the program enjoys a 100% employment record.
