School Psychology

Children are the life blood of our society. If you are interested in helping children, our APA and NASP accredited School Psychology (SchoolPsyc) program can help you achieve goal.

Graduate students in the School Psychology program work with clients from diverse populations and cultures. We will train you in preventative as well as remedial services across a wide range of educational and health-related environments including:
• Schools,
• Families,
• Hospitals,
• Residential and outpatient mental health facilities,
• Community agencies

The School Psychology program is highly respected both locally and throughout the nation. Some recent achievements include:

Ranked by US News and World Report as among the top 3 best school psychology programs in the country. Ranked in research articles as the #1 program in the nation in terms of publication productivity in major scholarly school psychology journals. Identified by the Chancellor of UNL as one the university's most outstanding programs.

The UNL School Psychology Program offers students access to extraordinary training opportunities. The Nebraska School Psychology Project (NSPP) and the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology (NICPP) provide "cutting edge" training experiences that cannot be found at any other university. Each have been identified as models in national scholarly journals.

Via NSPP, faculty and students provide a comprehensive range of school psychological services to local public and parochial schools within a multidisciplinary training environment. The NICPP is one of only a very small handful of internships in the nation that is both accredited by the American Psychological Association and designed specifically to meet the training needs of school psychologists. Encompassing a number of school, medical, and community settings, the NICPP provides students with access to an unparalleled array of professional challenges, opportunities for growth, and diverse client populations.

Deadline
For applicants to the School Psychology program the deadline is December 1st. Students are only admitted for the Fall semester.
