| How to Apply to a distance program in the Department of Family and
Consumer Sciences
To apply you must send several items to (1) the Office of Graduate Studies, and three additional items to (2) the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences. 1. Go to the University of Nebraska Graduate Studies web page and complete the on-line application http://www.unl.edu/gradstudies/prospective/apply.shtm. Select Prospective Students, then select How to Apply, scroll down the page and select Proceed to the Online Graduate Application. Complete this application and submit via the web as instructed. There is a $45 fee to apply. 2. After applying on-line, send the $45 fee and two official transcripts from any and all college or university degrees you have previously obtained to: The Office of Graduate Studies 3. International students whose primary language is not English must take the TOEFL Exam and submit the score to the Office of Graduate Studies. Remember: You must send these three items to the
Office of Graduate Studies: Application and $45 fee, transcripts, and TOEFL,
if required. Additional items listed below should be sent to: Graduate Support Services 1. A statement of intent including: (1) your prior work related experience, and (2) your future goals related to the program you are applying to, and (3) why this degree may help you. 2. A brief resume or curriculum vitae. 3. Three letters of recommendation. Remember: You must send these three items to the
Department of Family & Consumer Sciences: Letter of Intent, resume,
and letters of recommendation. |
When all materials are received the graduate committee will act upon your request for admission into the program. It may take 1-3 months to process your application and notify you. This delay should not inconvenience you too much because you can begin classes three times during the year: August/September, January/February, or June/July.
