Varied as these are, they all center on a common theme: strengthening families, schools and communities. This people-oriented focus gives students, faculty and alumni a world of opportunity in which to develop their talents and pursue their dreams.

The College of Education and Human Sciences is home to 2,500 undergraduate students, 1,000 masters and doctoral students, 200+ faculty and staff members. Together we carry out exemplary professional preparation programs, useful and sound research, and meaningful outreach in communities locally and throughout the globe.

CEHS is a fully accredited college with an outstanding faculty. We attract excellent students who have strong commitments to their professions. An education from CEHS, combined with your talent and hard work, will prepare you for a promising career in any one of our 24 undergraduate degree options, 38 teaching endorsements, or 21 graduate programs.

We are proud that CEHS is a one-of-a kind college in Nebraska. No other institution of higher education combines the fields of teacher education, educational psychology, individual and family development, consumer science, leadership and administration, nutrition and health, special education and communication disorders, as well as textiles, clothing and design into a single college aimed at improving people's lives.

A great benefit of this combination is that students have many academic options from which to choose within the same college. CEHS students, faculty and alumni are well prepared to address the real-life challenges people face at home, at school, in the workplace and in the community. Finally, the interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of the College promotes innovative ways of looking at issues, asking questions and seeking solutions to complex problems.

Students in the College of Education and Human Sciences have access to the world-class resources of a comprehensive university. At the same time, they benefit from the personal attention and guidance characteristic of a student-centered program. Learning occurs in a variety of settings, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience. All of this takes place in a scholarly environment where talent is nurtured, curiosity is rewarded and diversity is respected.
