Kelsey Walker

Brief Biography
Kelsey Walker is a secondary literacy coach at Goshen County
School District in Torrington, Wyoming and was a middle school Language Arts
teacher for seven years. She has a Curriculum and Instruction master’s
degree with an emphasis in Secondary English from University of Nebraska at
Kearney where she also earned her ESL endorsement. She is currently pursuing
an education doctorate degree at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Professionally, Kelsey enjoys presenting at regional and national
conferences, along with offering professional development courses to teachers
within her school district, to help teachers improve their practice,
particularly around the areas of SEL, literacy instruction, and secondary
reading intervention. She lives in western Nebraska with her husband and two
adorable Wire-Haired Pointing Griffon dogs.
Research Interests
Kelsey is interested in secondary literacy strategies,
the science of reading, SEL, teacher professional development, teacher
retention, and instructional coaching.
