Md. Rashaduzzaman, TMFD Ph.D. graduate student currently working under Dr. Jennifer Jorgensen’s supervision, has been notified that he’s the recipient of this year's ITAA Marjorie Joseph Fellowship: Outstanding Beginning Doctoral Student Award. Bingnan Mu, TMFD Ph.D. graduate student currently working under Dr. Yiqi Yang's supervision, has received a John and Louise Skala Fellowship.
Dr. Mary Alice Casto, Assistant Professor in TMFD, will present "`For Modern Living:’ Style and Design in Mid-Century Textiles” on Sunday, June 11th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Room 31, Human Sciences Building on east campus. The public lecture will be followed by a reception in the gallery.

The public is invited to a panel discussion on February 16, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 31 of the Human Sciences Building titled “Teaching From The Collections” featuring Department of Textiles, Merchandising & Fashion Design faculty members Drs. Mary Alice Casto, Sandra Starkey and Claire Nicholas, and assistant professor of practice Michael Burton, along with Ph.D. graduate student Molly McPherson.
Cunningham will share insights into his quilting career, several of his quilts and a few songs at 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum. This free event, which is open to people of all ages, marks the inaugural Mary Ghormley Memorial Lecture.
Through a generous donor grant, CEHS has funds available to enhance instruction and research through attention to international work and issues. Proposals are being solicited from faculty and staff to support coursework that includes international perspectives, research/creative work that includes an international component, or professional development activities and environmental improvements that will promote our international goals.
Proposals must be emailed to Deb Mullen (dmullen1@unl.edu) in a Word document by March 6, 2017.
