UNL gave me that opportunity to expand my knowledge of nutrition.

I believe that health doesn't just mean nutrition. Nutritional health is also spiritual health. Spiritual health is very important and that's why I am involved in the Neuman Center at UNL.

UNL is concerned with much more than just classroom work. They're interested in giving students the opportunity to have a hands on experience in their field, and have the opportunities to apply the things that I've learned in the classroom to a clinical setting.

I traveled to Ethiopia last summer as part of a study abroad trip led by some UNL professors. We saw a lot of desperate situations in Ethiopia. So many cases of malnutrition, and that really made me think about my future, my future career choices and what I wanted to do after college.

Maggie experiences education abroad in Ethiopia.
