The athletic training major at the University of Nebraska requires athletic training students to complete three years of guided clinical internship. Students are rotated among several work sites and will have many different clinical supervisors during their clinical internships. It is intended that during their experience, the student will be assigned to clinical supervisors who oversee high and low risk sports, male and female athletes, and both team and individual endeavor.
Policies regarding the clinical internships can be found in the Program Policies section, and the expected outcomes of each semester of internship can be found in the The Athletic Training Major section.
The University of Nebraska Athletic Training Education program utilizes several different facilities as clinical instruction sites for the athletic training students. The athletic facilities at the University of Nebraska are among the finest in the nation, and the athletic medicine facilities reflect the athletic department's "commitment to excellence"
