Career Opportunities
The mission of the Didactic Program in Dietetics is to provide prepare graduates to successfully enter a dietetic internship, post-baccalaureate program and/or a variety of employment opportunities related to nutrition and food.
Employment opportunities include research laboratories and pharmaceutical sales, and positions such as Physician, Physician's Assistant, Dentist, Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, or Pharmacist.
Careers that are associated with the Culinary Science major include positions such as Manager of Research and Development, Corporate Executive Chef, Research Executive Chef and Senior Culinary Research Assistant.
Career opportunities related with this major include positions in Sports Nutrition, Corporate Wellness, Private Health Clubs, or Community Health Promotions.
Many career opportunities are associated with working in the University of Nebraska Athletic Department. Opportunities include working with high school/college/professional sports teams, working in sports medicine clinics and preparing for physical therapy school.
The primary objective of physical therapy is to promote human health and function by assessing and treating disabilities, and promoting wellness to individuals of all ages. The physical therapist conducts physical evaluations to determine the patient's potential for rehabilitation and life style changes, and also educates the patient and family.
Career opportunities associated with this major include positions such as Food and Beverage Director, Catering Company Owner, Guest Services Manager, Wedding Planner, Cookbook Author, Convention and Visitors Bureau Manager or Food Critic.

Dietetics
The Dietetics (Didactic Program in Dietetics) option is designed for students who wish to become registered dietitians and practitioners in clinical, community, food industry, and foodservice areas of nutrition.
Nutrition Science
The Nutrition Science major provides you with the opportunity to intensively study the biological and physical sciences as a basis for understanding the science of nutrition.
Culinary Science (Culinology®)
The emerging discipline of blending the culinary arts and the science of food, Culinology® is becoming a recognized and valued discipline that will significantly impact food research and development in the global market.
Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science
The nutrition, exercise and health science option is designed for those students interested in planning, conducting and managing health-related fitness and wellness programs in a variety of settings.
Athletic Training
Students receive preparation to work with athletes at all levels, hands-on experience with the University of Nebraska Athletic Department and significant attention due to highly selective enrollment.
Pre-Physical Therapy
