- Congratulations to the following 2011-2012 NICPP interns who have successfully defended their doctoral dissertations!
- Sara Kupzyk, intern at Munroe-Meyer Institute, defended her dissertation April 24, 2012, at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
- Chrissie Love, intern at Counseling and Psychological Services – UNL, won the National Psychologist Trainee Register Credentialing Scholarship through the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. This scholarship will cover Chrissie's costs for registering her credentials and becoming credentialed as an HSPP.
- We are excited to welcome back QLI as a Consortium site! QLI plans to fill one internship position beginning with the 2012-2013 internship year. Training Director Jeff Snell, Ph.D., is looking forward to participating in the APPIC Match this fall and spring to find an intern enthusiastic about and suited to working with the unique population QLI serves of individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, physical disabilities, and other central nervous system dysfunction.
- The Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology completed the APA re-accreditation process in 2009 and was granted full accreditation by the American Psychological Association for the next seven years. Our next re-accreditation visit is in 2016.

- Dr. Susan Swearer (NICPP Co-Director) participated in the launch of Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation held February 29, 2012.
- Dr. Susan Swearer (NICPP Co-Director) participated in a panel during the White House Conference on Bullying held March 10, 2011.
- Dr. Rachel Valleley (Supervisor, Munroe-Meyer Institute) was nominated and asked to serve on the Collaborative Care Research Network (CCRN), an arm of the National Research Network of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
- Dr. Kim Haugen (Supervisor, Boys Town) and Dr. Michael Axelrod presented their paper “Strategies for supporting children of civorce: A parent consultation approach” at the February 2011 annual meeting of the National Association of School Psychologists held in San Francisco CA.
- Dr. Tricia Besett-Alesch (Training Director, Counseling and Psychological Services - UNL) was elected Treasurer of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies in November 2010.
- Dr. Susan Swearer was elected Secretary of Division 16 of the American Psychological Association for the 2010-2012 term.
- In August 2010, Dr. Susan Swearer was awarded Fellow status in Division 16 of the American Psychological Association.
