My research interests are in the area of synthetic organic chemistry and include the design and development of methods for the construction of complex molecular structures. Our particular strength is the design of novel methods that use catalysts to control selectivity. In addition, I am a strong believer in the merits of interdisciplinary research and enjoy collaborations on the design and preparation of novel enzyme inhibitors. Current collaborative projects include the design of inhibitors of biotinylation as potential probes of its epigenetic role and the design and preparation of mycobacteria antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents.
