Kelly Wacker will receive the Service to Mankind Award from the University Sertoma Club.  Kelly is being recognized for her work with Special Olympics.

Following a successful Spark Talk this spring, Reece Peterson is leading preparations for a fall conference on Exclusionary School Discipline to be held September 18, 2015 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus.  Save the date!  More information to soon follow.

Cynthia Cress received a STTR Phase II grant from NIH for further development of the Communication in Infants and Social Screener (CISS) as a predictive, sensitive, modality- independent screener to detect communication risk in preintentional infants ages 2-12 mos.

Tim Jones was awarded a subcontract with Creighton University for an NIH grant to study the retinoblastoma-susceptibility (Rb1) gene.  Rb1 plays a central role in cell growth, differentiation, and survival.  

Sherri Jones was awarded a subcontract with the University of Maryland School of Medicine for an NIH grant to investigate the role of Rfx3 transcription factor in inner ear development.

Stacie Ray received a grant from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for the Nebraska Children’s Hearing Aid Loaner Bank.

Steven Barlow was recently awarded two patents for his medical device systems to promote development of sucking and feeding skills in premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit.
