Student Council for Exceptional Children to host sand volleyball tournament Oct. 2

15 Sep 2016

The Student Council for Exceptional Children at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host Serve for SCEC, a sand volleyball tournament, at Pioneers Park Sunday, Oct. 2, to raise money for various club activities.

Pool play for the six-on-six coed tournament begins at 11 a.m. at the sand volleyball courts in Pioneers Park, with seeding for the single-elimination tournament determined by pool play.

The deadline to register is Sept. 28, with entry fee payments due the day of the tournament. Entry fees are $10 per person, with teams of between six and eight individuals. Prizes will be awarded to each member of the winning team.

Proceeds from the volleyball tournament will benefit Nebraska’s SCEC chapter. The money will be used to help the club organize activities to promote disability awareness and social interactions. It will also help pay for members to attend the Council for Exceptional Children national convention, which will be held in April in Boston.
