Study Abroad

The Department offers a variety of international experiences. In partnership with American Intercontinental University, students can enroll in classes throughout the year in London. Students learn about the global fashion marketplace, take classes in specialized areas, and study with other individuals from around the world.

Domestic and International Study Tours
The Department offers students the opportunity to participate in exciting study tours to New York City and abroad. As students venture to New York, an international apparel and textile hub, they gain an unparalleled opportunity to visit buying offices, showrooms, design studios and product development labs where they meet with designers and executives of major retail businesses and apparel and textile manufacturers. Using a three year rotation system, the department conducts study tours abroad. Students have studied in Paris, Lyon and London. There students explore the history of western textile design and production, learn the traditions of the haute couture, and experience cutting edge design in textiles, fashion and merchandising. They also explore world re-nown museums, architectural sites as well as experience the newest strategies in global retailing.

Textiles, clothing and design majors also have the opportunity to study abroad at institutions such as the American Intercontinental University in London. Students may spend a semester or summer in an international, urban environment taking classes and connecting with professionals in the textiles and fashion industry.
