Textile Science integrates the development, acquisition, distribution and utilization of textiles. This option brings together the study of basic sciences and technologies, application of management principles, the perspective of history as well as the fine art of design in a rich, challenging learning environment.

Resources

The textile laboratories are fully equipped with instrumentation used in the chemical, physical and optical analysis of textiles. This allows students an opportunity to have hands-on experience and to pursue individual research interests and study.


Student Organizations

Montage is a student organization for all Textiles,Merchandising and Fashion Design majors. Activities at the monthly meetings include guest speakers, planning for fashion shows and gallery exhibits, and fundraising. And, of course, social events that encourage close relationships between design, merchandising, and textile science majors.
