Distance Doctoral Coursework
The graduate faculty of TLTE have now made it possible for students to complete some coursework toward any of our three doctoral specializations (Teaching, Curriculum, & Learning; Instructional Technology; and Internet-Based Education) via distance technologies. Please be aware, however, of the following:
- Although TLTE and CEHS offer a number of online courses, not all doctoral coursework is available through distance technologies.
- Not all areas of study can support distance students.
- All doctoral students are recommended to spend at least one semester on campus as full time students.
- The support of a faculty mentor in the applicants proposed area of study is required for admission. Faculty members may decline to work with applicants or require applicants to agree to visit campus or spend a semester or more on campus prior to agreeing to support the applicant.
- Delivery modes: Primarily BlackBoard.
- Hardware/software requirements: E-mail, an internet browser, and an Internet service provider.
