Reading Center Program Statistics

The UNL Reading Center opened in January of 2004. To date, we have trained a total of 384 graduate and undergraduate students. In addition, we have served 268 different children/adolescents (94 of the students have attended two or more sessions) struggling in the areas of reading and writing from Lincoln and the surrounding communities. Former Dean O'Hanlon allocated funds from the Teachers College Institute to support start up operations. Additional funding was obtained through granting agencies, including:

*Woods Charitable Foundation, $20,000 funding for staff person
*Cooper Foundation, $5,000 for books for the Reading Center Library
*Private donations to provide scholarships supporting tuition for low-income families
