Industrial Technology Education
Three certification plans including Industrial Technology Education (ITE), Trade and Industrial Education (TIE), and Technical Education (TE).
ITE – for a 7-12 broad area certification in communication, construction, manufacturing, and energy, power and transportation
T&IE – for a trades specialized 9-12 certification, i.e. Automotive, Machine Tool, Construction, etc.
TE – for teaching at the Community College level or Industry training
Communication
Drafting/Design – board drafting, sketching and introduction to Computer Aided Drafting
Architectural – construction of architectural drawings via CAD
CAD – using inventor software for 3D design
Construction
Intro to Woodworking – hand tools, lathe, intro to power/machine tools and basic processes
Fine Woodworking – furniture design, special processes and care and repair of shop machines
Building Construction – basics of residential construction
Manufacturing
Metals/Plastics – forming, molding, separating and fabricating industrial materials
Machine Tool (QuickTime Movie)– two courses – one, basic machine shop tools, practices, equipment and two, programming and operations of CNC mills.
Welding – two courses – one, stick and gas welding processes and two, Mig/ Tig processes
Energy, Power and Transportation
Auto Technology – small engines plus an introduction to basic automotive systems
Electricity/Electronics – basic DC/AC circuits, construction and analysis
Electric Vehicle Construction – design, construction and testing of a single person electric vehicle
