CEHS Giving Challenge collects for OpeN Shelf through Nov. 23

07 Nov 2016

The CEHS Staff Council is sponsoring the 2016 CEHS Giving Challenge to support OpeN Shelf at UNL. All CEHS faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate.

The Challenge began Nov. 7 and runs through Nov. 23. OpeN Shelf is a University of Nebraska–Lincoln initiative administered by the Lutheran Center to help Husker students in need by providing primarily hygiene products, though they do have access to food products and other food bank sources. OpeN Shelf is a free service that strives to retain the anonymity of students visiting or utilizing the service. While OpeN Shelf is located in the Lutheran Center, the pantry is available for all persons in the UNL community regardless of age, race, gender identity or religious affiliation.

Below is a list of needed items.  Donations will be collected at the Educational Administration office on City Campus, (Teachers College Hall, Room 104) or at the CEHS Dean’s Office on East Campus (Human Sciences Building , Room 105). Each CEHS faculty or staff member or student who participates in the 2016 Giving Challenge will be entered in a drawing for chair massages at a later date. Winners will be announced at the CEHS Staff Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 21 and shared collegewide after the event.  If there are questions, please contact Melanie Kellogg at mkellogg@unl.edu or 472-9359.
