Welcome Letter from SAB

CEHS Students,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln! We’re all very excited to have everyone back for another great year in CEHS. To our new students, welcome to Nebraska! We hope that you find your home with us and learn to take advantage of all of the opportunities that CEHS and Nebraska have to offer you.

Our Student Advisory Board has been hard at work on several programs and events for our students and I just wanted to share a little about a special program for new freshmen and transfer students. The CEHS Student Advisory Board is running the Peer Network Program again this fall. This 12 week mentorship experience matches a group of new students with an experienced upperclassman in their same area of study. Program groups meet once weekly around group members’ schedules. I encourage all of our new students to sign up for this program to learn more about your area of study, our college, and our university. For more information or to sign up for this program please visit our Student Advisory Board website at https://cehs.unl.edu/ab/peer-network-program/.

Additionally, I would like to invite all of our current and new students to join us for the CEHS Fall Kick-Off. This fall welcome event will be held Tuesday September 3rd from 4-7PM in the City Campus Union Centennial room. We’ll have FREE Raising Cane’s, Valentino’s pizza, Jimmy John's, CEHS swag, and tons of great information for all students. All incoming students will also receive a FREE CEHS T-Shirt. The event will also include CEHS faculty and advisors who will be present to talk about international experiences, research opportunities, and questions students may have about the upcoming year. Aditionally, a few student organizations will be there to help you take the first steps toward getting involved. We hope to see you there!

Again, welcome back to the College of Education and Human Sciences at Nebraska! On behalf of the Student Advisory Board I wish you the best of luck with your studies this year. We hope your experience in CEHS is the best it can be and the Student Advisory Board welcomes your feedback and suggestions for improvement at any time. Submit feedback, suggestions, or concerns on our website at https://cehs.unl.edu/ab/suggestion-form/.

Have a great week and GO BIG RED!
