The core is partially supported by National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health (P20GM104320). Since Jan 1st, 2008, BORC became a service center that has authority to charge user fee to its users. BORC also provided subsidies to NPOD and University of Nebraska System (NU) investigators. The NPOD directors and project leaders are offered 90% subsidy for service cost occurred in BORC, while pilot project and seed grant investigators are offered 80%, other NPOD members like mentors and BORC director are offered 50%. The rest of NU investigators get 20% subsidy, while outside users pay full price and industry users pay 140%.

NPOD will implement a new policy about providing subsidy for NPOD regular members who use BORC services starting on Jan 1st, 2023. To qualify for 50% subsidy, NPOD regulor members must provide proof that one or more of their grants routing through NPOD. Otherwise, the subsidy will be decreased to 25%.
