Carlos Cortés, Professor Emeritus University of California-Riverside, presented "The New Multiculturalism" as part of CEHS Department of Educational Psychology's Century Speaker Series. Cortés discussed changes that have occurred in U.S. multiculturalism and the ways that people have viewed and reacted to those changes.

Kadriye Ercikan, associate professor at the University of British Columbia, presented "Validity and Comparability Issues in Cross-Cultural and International Assessments" as part of CEHS Department of Educational Psychology's Century Speaker Series. Ercikan discussed the need for multiple language versions of tests that involve individuals from different cultures. Ercikan focused on validity and methodologies used in examining construct and score comparability in multilingual assessments.

Barbara Byrne, Barbara Byrne, professor Emeritus at the University of Ottawa, presented, "Testing for Measurement Equivalence across Multiple Cultures: Many Problems and Few Solutions" as part of the Department of Educational Psychology's Century Speaker Series. Byrne spoke about the complexities of structural equation modeling in comparative cultural groups and offered a modified approach to the usual tests for equivalence when research involves large-scale studies of multiple cultural groups.
