Fall 2020 Methodology Applications Series presentation available on video

29 Oct 2020

Jim Bovaird, director of the Nebraska Academy of Methodology, Analytics and Psychometrics, led a Fall 2020 Methodology Applications Series presentation Oct. 23.

Video is available of his virtual presentation, “Modeling Context: To Kansas and Beyond.”

In his presentation, Bovaird notes that a child’s home life, local politics, grade promotion, youth sports — nearly everything in our immediate, changing and future environments affect individual behavior.

He explores methodological possibilities and psychometric considerations of the proximal and distal influences of multiple interacting systems in our environments, with specific focus on operationalizing contexts, validating latent measures of context and its effects, and disentangling the context from the individual.

The Methodology Applications Series is sponsored by CYFS’ MAP Academy. The next presentation will be Feb. 5, 2021, and will be led by Ray Reichenberg, MAP Academy research assistant professor.
