Jing Xue selected as finalist for Nutritional Sciences Council Awards Competition

Jing Xue, a graduate student working with Janos Zempleni’s lab, has been named one of 12 finalists for the American Society for Nutrition’s Nutritional Sciences Council 2013 Graduate Student Research Awards Competition. Her abstract is entitled “Epigenetic Synergies between Methyl Donors and Biotin in Gene Repression are Mediated by Holocarboxylase Synthetase (HLCS).”

As a finalist, she will participate in an oral competition to be held during the ASN’s Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at the Experimental Biology 2013 conference this April in Boston, MA.  Finalists receive a travel grant award to assist with the cost of attending the conference.  Three winners will be selected from the 12 finalists and each winner will also receive a $500 cash award and be recognized during the ASN’s Awards Ceremony at the end of the conference.
