Kostelnik chairs search for Buffett Early Childhood Institute director

29 Jul 2011

Three UNL faculty are part of a 12-member search committee to select the inaugural executive director of the University of Nebraska's Buffett Early Childhood Institute.

The search committee, named by NU President James B. Milliken, is chaired by Marjorie Kostelnik, dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences at UNL. Other committee members from UNL include Helen Raikes and Susan Sheridan, both from CEHS.

The institute, made possible by a gift from Omaha philanthropist Susie Buffett that will be more than matched  by public and private funds, will be a universitywide, multidisciplinary research, education, outreach and policy center that will seek to transform the approach to early childhood education in Nebraska and across the nation.
