SECD visually impaired program featured in LJS article

The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders offers a special education endorsement program in visual impairments. The online course, taken over the course of 2 1/2 years, was mentioned in a recent article in the Lincoln Journal Star newspaper. The program is offered in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Education and the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired. A shortage of teachers who hold the endorsement in visual impairments means some children in Nebraska aren't adequately served. For more information on the endorsement program, visit the special education endorsement page on the SECD website.
