Staff Council asks for your help in supporting two worthy charities this holiday season

Staff Council asks your help in supporting two worthy charities this holiday season: Fresh Start Home and The Barnabus Project. Donation boxes are set up in each CEHS building for your convenience.

Fresh Start

The mission of Fresh Start Home is to ensure the provision of services to women who experience barriers in their lives and to assist restoration of these women to the community.

For women living at the homeless shelter, the following items are in high demand:

• Women’s casual clothing
• Women’s workplace clothing 
• Coats, including plus sizes
• Gloves and hats for standing on cold bus stops
• Toiletries and feminine hygeine needs
• Bedding for twin extra long beds
• Boxed, non-perishable food

Additionally monetary donations can be specified according to the giver’s preference. For those wishing to support women trying to set up a household, bedding of any size and smaller kitchen items are in need.

Managed by Sheridan Lutheran Church, the Barnabus Project provides resources to encourage and support those working hard to care for their families. Through this partnership, they provide free clothing and other household goods to the working poor in the Belmont Neighborhood.
