Research Activities
Strengthening the lives of individuals, families, schools and communities

Within the seven departments and centers that make up our College, you will find faculty and students leading nationally recognized research across a broad range of interests.

Our research and creative work helps to inform our outreach and teaching missions. Our faculty, staff and students receive national and international recognition for advancing knowledge, discovering solutions to critical societal problems, developing professionals for the field, and enhancing the lives of individuals, families, schools, and communities.

We combine the strengths of a research and land-grant university by emphasizing both the creation of new knowledge and its application to human and community needs.

Scholarly Enhancement Program

The Scholarly Enhancement Program supports and enhances scholarship in CEHS. Faculty seeking assistance in their research activities can apply for program participation. Early career and mid-career programs are available. For annual deadlines, more information and application procedures, visit the New Faculty Development Programs webpage.

The College of Education and Human Sciences at UNL annually sends a team of faculty and student researchers to present their findings at the Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association. The 2017 AERA meeting is April 27-May 1 in San Antonio, Texas. For more information, click the image below.

Save the Date

The next CEHS Showcase is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2018 at the City Campus Union. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us. Be looking for information this fall about how to sign up to present.

The Showcase is a college-wide opportunity to share research, extension, creative endeavors, curriculum development projects and other scholarly activities. This event celebrates scholarly work throughout CEHS for faculty and students. The Showcase provides an opportunity for faculty and students to experience the high quality and diverse scholarship within the College of Education and Human Sciences.

Faculty are encouraged to share their scholarship including what has already been presented at national or international conferences. In addition, we would encourage faculty to share work they have done with students and encourage students to be part of the presentation. Each faculty member and/or team of faculty and students will be provided an area to display a poster reflecting their work.
