Chet Bennetts, M.S., CFP Adjunct Faculty

Chet Bennetts is an Assistant Professor of Financial Planning and the CFP®/ChFC® Program Director at The American College of Financial Services where he also serves as the Larry R. Pike Chair for Insurance and Investments. He served in the Marine Corps for 8.5 years both active and reserve before being medically discharged after returning from Iraq in 2005. He is married with three children who are all currently in college.

Chet has been in the financial services industry for 20 years and has served in roles from customer service, to being a financial planner, to managing 80 advisors over 5 states. He has his CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, RICP®, CLF® and obtained his M.S. in Family Financial Planning from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln as well as a Course Associate at Columbia University in their Master of Professional Studies in Wealth Management program. Staying connected with the military communities, he serves as an on-demand DoD contractor providing free financial counseling and planning services to servicemembers and their families.

Chet is finishing his Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University where his research focus and passion is in the area of behavioral finance, specifically how financial wellbeing affects physical and psychological wellbeing, especially among service members and Veterans.
