The family financial planning online master’s degree offered through the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies and Great Plains IDEA, has been ranked No. 1 nationally by Top Accounting Degrees. The ranking was based in part on student/faculty ratio, average graduate tuition rate, flexible course offerings, affiliation with professional certification, and online student resources such as advising and tech support.

“We are proud to have the quality of our family financial planning master’s degree exemplified in this top national ranking,” said Richard Bischoff, chair of the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies. “Our graduates are well-equipped to help families, couples and individuals manage their finances for their current and long-term financial well-being. These professionals offer a critical service that helps families be more successful, and we believe our program and faculty are making a difference in the lives of our students, graduates and their clients.”

Students in the FFP master’s program gain personal financial knowledge and develop competencies that can lead to the Certified Financial Planner designation from the CFP International Board of Standards. Graduates of the program will be prepared to help households improve their economic well-being through effective use of resources and for working in a variety of human services, cooperative extension and the private or public sector.
