Diane Carson, Office Assistant in the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies, was recently awarded the Floyd S. Oldt Silver Pen Award by the University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association (UNOPA) at the organization’s 44rd Annual UNOPA Boss's Luncheon on November 11th.

The Floyd S. Oldt Silver Pen Award honors university staff members who have demonstrated superior performance and have made a significant contribution to the university community as an employee.

Her nominators had nothing but positive things to say about Diane's work.

"[Diane] is a role model for what other University employees should strive to be."

"[Diane's] contributions to the department cannot be accurately measured by a rubric and are not completely captured in a job description."

"...I want to shout from the rooftops how impressed I have always been about [Diane's] work, commitment, skills, and compassion."

"[Diane is] my first choice when I am allowed to choose a support staff person to help with projects."

When she's not winning awards, Diane can be found behind the receptionist's desk of CYAF's office in Mabel Lee Hall, where she provides much needed support (and candy) for the department's faculty and staff.
