Dr. Paul Springer, Associate Professor in the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies, has been recognized as the Nebraska Association for Marriage and Family Therapy’s Marriage and Family Therapist of the Year. The award recognizes Dr. Springer's contributions to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy in Nebraska.

Dr. Springer has served on the Board of the NAMFT for several years. This award acknowledges this contribution, as well as his contributions to the profession as a trainer/educator, supervisor, researcher and clinician, and for his work throughout the state in attempting to reduce mental health care disparities.

Dr. Springer's interests include improving mental health services for underserved and hard to reach populations, including work in collaborative health care settings, rural populations and racial and ethnic minorities. More information about Dr. Springer can be found on his faculty profile.
