Cindy Kane currently serves at the director of student involvement and leadership at Bridgewater State University in Bridewater, MA. Prior to working at BSU, she was employed in progressively responsible roles in student affairs at St. Peter’s University (NJ) and Seton Hall University (NJ). Cindy earned her bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College (PA) in psychology, a master of arts degree from New York University (NY) in student personnel administration in higher education and her doctorate of philosophy in educational leadership in higher education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Cindy has held multiple leadership roles with the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), including serving for two years on the board of directors. She has received the organization’s Founder’s Award in 2015 and was the 2006 recipient of the Donald L. McCullough award in the Northeast Region. Dr. Kane’s research interests include exploring ways student affairs educators integrate scholarship into student affairs practice as well as specific ways campus activities practitioners can be more actively engaged with university-wide teaching and learning priorities.
Dr. Kane is a frequent contributor to the higher education community through serving as a speaker, consultant and program reviewer for a variety of institutions. She has received grant awards for her research from NASPA, ACUI and NACA and has two publications forthcoming in 2017 and 2018 on topics relating to student leadership education.
