Dr. Dijon DeLaPorte serves as the Recruitment and Outreach Specialist with the Department of Educational Administration in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Dijon’s professional interests are in campus cultures, student retention, and experiential learning in higher education.
Dijon has worked professionally in higher education since 2008. During this time, he has resided in four different states and worked at various institutions. He has worked in previous roles in event management and residence life.
Originally from Illinois, Dijon's doctoral dissertation research focused on retention in student leadership positions using a human resource framework. He is involved in the community by serving on community boards and volunteering with the Douglas County Election Commission. He enjoys running half marathons and spending time with his spouse, twin boys, and two dogs.
