Madison Mumm LECTURER/TEACHER, RUTH STAPLES CHILD DEVELOPMENT LAB

I am from small town Hebron, Nebraska, home of the world's largest covered porch swing! I grew up with my parents, 1 older brother, 2 younger sisters, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 bunnies. I currently live with one of my younger sisters and with my cat, Roxy. I graduated from UNL in December 2019 with a major in Psychology, and minors in Sociology and Educational Psychology. While going to school, I worked part-time at another child-care facility, where I discovered my passion for being an early childhood educator! I joined the Ruth Staples team in September of 2021.

I love getting to build strong, authentic relationshps and connections with each child at Ruth Staples. Seeing the kids smiling and laughing each day brings me so much joy. My favorite thing about being a preschool teacher is watching the children have that "a-ha!" moment! Seeing the expressions on the children's faces as they accomplish something difficult, or learn something new and then connecting it with what they already know is incredible. Each day I am reminded of why I am a teacher, and I have Ruth Staples faculty, students, and children to thank for that!
