Dr. Hyde joins EDAD faculty as Associate Professor of Practice

Dr. Renee Hyde will be joining the Educational Administration Department faculty as an Associate Professor of Practice in August 2019.

Dr. Hyde is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Papillion LaVista Community Schools.

Prior to her work at Papillion LaVista, Dr. Hyde served in education for almost 15 years. She was the Plattsmouth Community Schools Superintendent and the Eustis-Farnam Public Schools Superintendent. She also worked at Trumbull Public Schools and was a science teacher.

Hyde grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska and eventually made her way back to Nebraska when her children reached the age for school. She said she believes Nebraska’s schools and values are a great place for raising children.

She accepted the position as a Professor of Practice because she knows the program is an effective way to merge the insights of research with the wisdom of practical experience.

“I look forward to working with aspiring superintendents both as they gain insights through their studies, and as a mentor when they transition their educational careers and become superintendents.”

Dr. Nick Pace, EDAD Professor and Department Chair, said he and the department were not only impressed with her experience in education, but also her experience with developing and mentoring rising school leaders.

“She’s passionate about school leadership and has deep connections to Nebraska education,” Pace said. “We were impressed with her hands-on approach to teaching school leaders and the way she works to connect theory to practice.”

We’re excited to welcome her to Nebraska EDAD!
