Dr. Kelly Abdelmassih is a food and nutrition professional with 20 years of experience spanning both operational and clinical positions. These professional experiences have influenced her academic career in the fields of dietetics and hospitality management, with a focus on foodservice management.
Dr. Abdelmassih has taught various courses in hospitality and dietetics at Iowa State University, New York University, and the University of Alabama. She is passionate about connecting with students in the classroom and online, as well as facilitating experiential learning opportunities.
While teaching is her academic emphasis, she has conducted various research projects and published manuscripts on topics related to food allergy accommodation, food safety, nutrition labeling, as well as diversity and inclusion efforts in food service operations. Dr. Abdelmassih brings research and industry experiences to her instruction that create an inspiring learning environment in which relevant, practical, and evidence-based content can be understood and applied by tomorrow's professionals.
