Mary Ann Johnson Professor Emerita and Chair Emerita

As professor and chair of the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2018-2023, Dr. Johnson served as an esteemed mentor to many faculty and staff members, throughout all career stages, to reach their goals in research, teaching, Extension, and outreach.

During her time at the University of Georgia, Mary Ann’s academic career focused on aging, nutrition and chronic disease self-management, and training students and health professionals in food and nutrition policies to ensure access to affordable, safe, and wholesome foods.
