Research Interests:  Erin’s professional work and scholarship is focused on improving child outcomes through three avenues: early childhood teacher development and work supports, teacher-child interactions in early childhood classrooms, and equity in early childhood.Erin is committed to improving teacher experiences and retention through research and education on teacher working conditions and professionalization of the early childhood field. She has research experience studying directors and teachers use of non-contact time in early childhood, interactions between teachers and children during science and math topics in early childhood, teacher perspectives of culture and diversity, and disadvantaged children’s experiences in early childhood.
