Administrative Core

The Administrative Core coordinates and facilitates the research, mentoring, and enrichment activities of the NPOD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Under the direction of Dr. Janos Zempleni, Willa Cather Professor of Molecular Nutrition in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences at UNL, the Administrative Core provides the overall direction for the NPOD, including the hiring of new faculty and the identification of NPOD projects and pilot grant recipients that align with federal funding priorities and the NPOD’s programmatic focus on the prevention of obesity and related diseases through signaling by dietary compounds. The Administrative Core supports a series of activities including the following:
