As an adipose biologist, I focused on the regulation of nutrient metabolism by autophagy and Sestrin family for over 10 years. I have been investigating the lipid metabolism regulated by autophagy kinases ULK1 and 2 (Autophagy, 2013). I have recently found a physiological role of Sestrin2 in the regulation of ROS in brown adipocytes (PNAS, 2014), and that Sestrin2 regulate autophagy and mTORC1 signaling by interacting with ULK1 and GATOR2 (FEBS J, 2014, Sci. Rep., 2015).
